I bought a 04 GS a few weeks ago and the previous owner converted turn signals to led. Only problem is the indicator doesn't work. Bulb checked good and so did the socket but no go. Any ideas?
How did you check the bulb and socket?
I'd bet they cut or disconnected a wire to the indicator bulb. When installing led signals, a diode needs to be wired in so the signal doesn't jump across the bulb and make both sides flash at once. Instead of installing a diode, you can just pull the indicator bulb out.....or cut / disconnect a wire to it.
Okay I got it to work but the bulb flashes very dim, almost can't see it.didn't use resistors, but diodes instead. Would like to convey all the dash lights to led also.

Using that diagram I made a harness to replace the diodes that were on the bike from the PO and the poor connections that were there. Also replaced all the bulbs while I was in there.
On a side note I was thinking about making more off the harnesses to sell on here to make it easier for people to convey to led.

I see you used my diagram. Probably the PO did a bad job - like you mentioned.
On a side note, I used to make harness modifications. I'd send them out for a couple dollars and expect their old harness in return. Usually it took months to get the old one back or sometimes never (so people got a modified harness - worth $25 - and I'm out the harness.) Basically I tried recycling harnesses to keep the flow going since spare harnesses are not that common. Hence I quit doing it. Too many flakes.
If you do it, charge full price for it and you can give a credit if they return their old harness back to you, so you can use it to make another one. It would be good for someone to offer that service because many are unsure what to get and/or don't have much soldering experience to make a good one.
FYI: I originally put the diodes at the bulb end. One harness had a cut wire in the middle so I slit the plastic covering and inserted them there. I think it is easier in the middle - more wire to work with - so that's where I do it now for bikes that come to West Seattle.
That's where I did mine, right behind the frame on the right side by the connector.
I was thinking about making a mini harness that people would just cut the wire in half and crimp it on with supplied connections and wire trap.
