I was wondering if i start up / warm up my GS on a regular basis w/o riding during these wonderful days of winter, am i doing more harm than good?
Thanks for your response!
Unless you can ride it for 15 or 20 minutes regularly, you are best off to winterize it and let it sit.
Starting it without a decent warm-up ride is the worst thing you can do. It maximizes cold start-up wear, and doesn't generate enough heat to get rid of the water you are creating in the oil and exhaust. You will also drain the battery without really re-charging it. There really isn't an upside to starting it in the garage.
I have to disagree with Kevin here. The sweet purring will warm you up inside and you will feel much better after. It'll do a lot of good to you.
Or were you talking about her?
