Title: A tip I thought I would share to help recover your stolen rides
Post by: makenzie71 on December 15, 2013, 07:27:52 PM
This is something that I do with every tire change I do.  It has never prevented a theft, but it has caught two thieves that I am aware of (customers' bikes).

I come back from time to time and have no real complaints...just bitchy, as usual.

Of course, if you sell the bike properly, you'd want to remove the note or the new owner could be in for a surprise.

It should stay in.  At worst you'll get one awkward call.  You should inform your buyer, though, just in case, but that tag staying in there after the bike was sold has caught a thief who was breaking bikes on eBay.

If not a tag, then a paint marker ;) saying same thing.
