As if Campbell Newman and his retarded Attorney-General aren't bad enough, the cops are now giving out fines like this one:

:cookoo:
Did you give him the finger as you went by? I can't imagine why else you would get a ticket for 1-over.
Hang on... before you pay... there is an Offense Code on the ticket. It does not matter what is written as the offence, only the offence code. If the code does not match the written offence - eg, sometimes they will write one thing but the code is for not wearing a seatbelt (motorbikes don't have seatbelts) - then you will be let off.
Also, if they judged your speed as 1kph over only by following, then That is not an accurate way to judge such a small speed variance. I'd be contesting that one. Get a copy of the code/rules first to double check. You might even be able to find it online via the QPS website.
Hope you were recording the conversation with your phone's voice recorder app.
On the flip side. GS500 speedos read high. If your read 60 your actual will have been less. Only way to do actual 60 is to be doing 60+ indicated.
That's total bull-sheat
Oh FFS that's frickin' ridiculous! Contest away I say! 1kph is insane... how thick is the speedo needle? Definitely do what Mister says and do some reading first...
What a f%$king joke
UPDATE: According to this story - and you see video footage as well from, someone, the fine has been reviewed and cancelled/dropped.

Just a "Case of revenue raising" Classic.
Saw a story today of a guy getting fined for having his windows too far. The cop didn't measure the gap but told the guy he had an "accurate eye". http://m.couriermail.com.au/news/queensland/brisbane-motorist-fined-for-leaving-car-window-slightly-down-on-hot-day/story-fnihsrf2-1226793936291 (http://m.couriermail.com.au/news/queensland/brisbane-motorist-fined-for-leaving-car-window-slightly-down-on-hot-day/story-fnihsrf2-1226793936291)
Qld'ers better make sure they wind the windows up properly on their motorbikes.

Hrrrrm .... Least popular state to move to right now? .... QLD!! ... Another couple weeks they'll have the razor wire up and 'your papers are not in order!!!!'
Sure seems that way. When did QLD become the poster child for the nanny-state?

Right after the Bandidos bikies swarmed into Broadbeach, fully patched, bikes a thumping, and dragged a fellow out from an eating establishment. Maybe a 100 of them. A few months back now (Sep 27, Fri night).
Suddenly, almost as if it was already written just waiting for an excuse to pass it, news laws came into effect and the snowball began rolling.
A friend of mines mate just got a $146 ticket for failure to keep both feet on the foot rests when he pulled a leg off to stretch. Ya'll wind up with that type of tyrannical crap in OZ. Sorry fella's but I think I'll ignore the Aussies opinion of how we should run our internal affairs in the states.
Don't get us started on the goat f%$k that is your government.
I heard someone in Washington got a ticket for standing on the pegs and not remaining seated. He was going over railroad tracks. The WA Motorcycle Handbook tells you to stand up on the pegs when going over rough road for safety and stability. :dunno_black: :cookoo:
Err ... "Stand" on the pegs? ... Or 'raise yourself slightly' .... Same/same in a way .... But not legally the same :icon_neutral:
Ya might not believe this but, today in Queensland....

146 smackeroonies...uncanny..
PS Looks as if they got the date wrong too. Mind u, it might still be last year in the Sunshine State.
Fined for 1km over the limit
Fined for having the car parked with the window cracked open Just too much
Fined for stretching a leg
Got to fund the Vicious Lawless Association Disestablishment (VLAD) laws somehow.
Though I am curious, if the police were so concerned for the security of the car, why didn't they hang around to keep is safe, or make efforts to get in touch with the individual, or have it towed to their secure holding area. issuing a ticket and walking away doesn't make the car any more secure.

Same goes for speed cameras. If they were trying to keep you safe they would pull you over so you stopped speeding. You're still speeding after your photo is taken if you have been snapped unawares. Its a croc of sh1t.

Ah yeah - but - the apparent logic is... as you don't know where the cameras are you will need to slow down everywhere.
Of course, how this relates to them having the cameras on the same high-yeild zones where there are no crashes, is anyone's guess. But as long as they keep touting the "For road safety" mantra, it's justified :icon_rolleyes: :icon_rolleyes: :icon_rolleyes:
Have a question, mister, do you consider these cameras as harassment?, sometimes I do, because normally a leo has to witness or actually catch an offense for it to be considered an offense. here in tn, the cameras are run by an outfit out of Scottsdale AZ. plus offenses are considered a civil matter and not criminal. Go figure Eh?
Aaron
and after harassment…the cops in Queensland don't even have to be dinky-di Skippy citizens…a pr wielding blow-in will do…….what would the Romans think of us? arghhhhhhh, too much monkey business here in the Land of Oz, these days. Should just have let the Japs win, me ol granddad used to mumble….

They would say you are going the same direction they were going around AD350. Rome decayed from the inside.

Nah, not really. They are obviously a form of revenue raising, depsit the claims to be there for road safety. But our police service lets you know where they will likely be on this map http://www.police.qld.gov.au/apps/speedcamerazones
Double check the roads you're going to go on, with this map, and slow down accordingly. :thumb:
Really not getting any better for the banana benders ….
Queensland authorities have apologised for the harassment.
18/1…update…this guy has posted a second vid to YT. Not really work the viewing effort 'cept to note that the police ended up by drug swabbing the rider before allowing him to leave the petrol station.
WTF! :o
What was the result? Why pulled over other than they have no real crime to or traffic problems to deal with?

Wow. Just wow. Pathetic.
Yep
You guys have 2 choices
1. Bend over and take it dry.
2. Go Dukes of Hazard and run (my first choice).

Option 3: Revolution (assuming they haven't totally disarmed their citizens yet)
:icon_eek: :icon_idea:
damn!! .. its just clicked.... for years and years ive heard people say Queensland .. perfect one day and Japanese the next! ... on account of how many tourists and 'imports' could be seen on the 'gold coast' (just south of brisbane .. for the yankees etc) ..
but now... now!!
ive been suspicious of the chinese for a while too... not the individual people .. but the country/government !! .. so ... i reckon that the regime in china is brainwashing or otherwise controlling ole mate Campbell Newman and his cronies.... so the people will revolt!!! ... once the state is in turmoil .. then it may well spread countrywide... civil disobedience would be rife!! ... the cops and military would be stretched.... and distracted....
then the invasion force comes stomping in down through indonesia!!! ... who by the way have been whinging and whining about asylum seeker boats being turned back to them lately....
dang!! ... i gotta get some time on the tv and study up on the preppers styles .. on the guerilla warfare tactics employed in the past ... and the homesteaders gardens/hunting setups...
i'd grow a beard too!! .. but the missus wont let me... and it ends up looking like this
(http://cdn.frontpagemag.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/Nidal-Hasan-beard-620x424.jpg)
.. actually .. thats disturbingly familiar!! :icon_rolleyes:
I was gonna say that John. Do the fuzz even pack heat over there? I doubt it.
Copper says....stop! or I'll yell stop again! What's the wanker do?....he just stops takes it in the arse dry. Then they kiss and meet in court next week.
Stand up for yourself for cryin' out loud!
Aussie cops do indeed carry ... Glock 21's ? ... in .40 S&W .. a lot with Tasers as well ...
i believe there are a number of vehicle units with pump action shotguns .. still ... but not sure on that .. or what type?
Then theres the FED cops .. they carry glock 20's in 10mm .. plus tasers and 'other stuff'
and of course the various TRG's .. which have better toys .. but its been years since i actually checked what they use now.
the pommy cops are the un-armed ones!! ... "you're nicked sonny boy jim!" ... "look out he's got a shootah!" ... "ello ello ello whats all this then?" ;)

...he last night defended the "shoot-to-kill" policy for dealing with suspected suicide bombers,...
You can "suspect" anyone. They have a license to kill.
Welcome to the UK, different world there, these days.
