Title: r6 led tail light help?
Post by: aaronmact on December 29, 2013, 12:30:15 PM
Alright friends its time we start another little project, forgive me if this has been done but I'm not very good at it. I know I'm going to need a resistor ( if Im not mistaken) since this is an led tail light. My issue is knowing which one. I know its based on input current and out put current and yadda yadda. Ive just forgotten it all  the back of the led tail light is 12V3.4/0.4W . Any ideas what resistors I'll need for hooking it up to the gs ?

Brake lights do not need resistors. Only turn signals need them if they blink too fast.

I've wired LED tail/brake lights into a GS500 and Yamaha FZ1. Adidasguy is correct, no resistors or other hardware needed. Be aware the LEDs do require correct +ve and -ve polarity on the wiring otherwise it is all relatively forward. The FZ1 needed quite a bit of disassembly for the r&r, hopefully the r6 is a bit easier.
