Title: rattling/buzzing noise at certain rpm?
Post by: ScottishBiker234 on January 09, 2014, 09:33:08 PM
Hey guys, passed my a2 last night! :D been riding about, but at around 5-6k rpm im hearing a really weird noise, almost sounds like metal on metal, buzzing, grinding noise, no idea what it is, it has a bit of a delay in acceleration around then, after that everything is fine, any ideas?

Is it on a gs of a gsf? I have a gsf and I get a buzz at 6-7 rpm because a clip at the front of the faring has fallen off

if in doubt, go flat out

Could be a couple of things going on that are unrelated...

1 - rattle
2 - deadspot.

As in, as it gets to the deadspot it's extra vibey. The extra vibes are causing the rattle.

Would be a little more specific other than "im hearing a really weird noise, almost sounds like metal on metal, buzzing, grinding noise"? Where is this noise? It is in all gears? All speeds regardless of gear? Just top gear? Is it coming from in front, beneath you, maybe sounds like under your butt?

How is your chain doing? Sprockets? Are your spark plugs in tight?

Its a little worrying when someone describes rattles in an engine.I say this is a situation where you need to get it checked out
