Title: Front forks?
Post by: Chucky on January 12, 2014, 12:18:10 AM
Hey all,

I have a gs500f with mods (jet kit, k&n air filter n yoshi slip on) the bike is like  new machine now, the next on my upgrade list is to do something with the front forks.

what is the easyest way to stiffen them up? Do I get thicker oil put in or swap them out for other shocks?

Thanks

if in doubt, go flat out

Easiest? Change the oil. Stock is 10w, go 15 or 20. Get a fork brace. You'll notice it right away.

For a fork brace get in touch with Buddha or Chuck81 http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=58455.0

I got a Buddha one and put it on and then my OEM one on top so still looks black.  :thumb:

Get Sonic springs. I use 0.85 and there is a calculator on their site for what you should get.
Rich Desomd is a member and owner of Sonic so support a fellow member. We all love Sonic Springs! They are on all my bikes (except one which has progressives that were given to me and I can't tell why you need progressives other than the buzzword "progressive")
