take the shifter off, take it to a welder, have them cut and extend it to length, bring it home, degrease it, paint it , reinstall to desired angle and enjoy.  fabricators here in the states would not charge more then 10$ or if they are good ole boys, a couple cold ones fresh from the icebox

Buy a used old one. They fit the same.
Get long pointy shoes?

Make sure if u buy a 2nd hand(or new) older shifter that it's length is enough. The standard shifter is mild steel and be easily cut/welded/bend/etc.....it can be extended to YOUR length preference.

Probably one of your shift levers was modified.

The Suzuki parts catalog has the same part for all years for the shift lever.  Here we have never seen any difference in the length in all the bikes that have been to the West Seattle Bike Cave. If we replace one we just grab one off of the shelf - never any thought of any ever being different lengths.

(Now the right brake pedal changed from one with a rubber cover to one that is just plain stamped out of steel.)

Foot pegs and brackets are the same for all years except for color. Is it possible the pegs were moved on one of the bikes? Otherwise someone changed the shift lever or modified it on one of the bikes.
