Title: Need some fuel tank pictures
Post by: fyberoptic on January 25, 2014, 05:47:48 PM
Hey Guys,

This might sound like a weird request, but I was wondering if any of you happen to have any photos of the bottom of your fuel tanks. The rubber shock absorbers somehow fell off of the bottom of mine, and I can't figure out exactly how they are supposed to attach or where to find a good picture. I have new ones, I just need to figure out where to glue them on to.

Thanks for the help!

I don't have a picture but here is the next best thing.

The tank is currently off my 2009 F model; but it still has some gas in it (off while doing a number of mods/upgrades).  What area do you need; I can try to see if I can get pics for you.

Here you go. Same for old and new tanks.

Thanks! that picture helps a ton. I wasn't exactly sure where those small rubber blocks on the far left and right sides of the photo are supposed to be.

The only other thing I need would be the front edge of the tank, like where it slips under the frame. I just don't want to put it on wrong and have it fall off...again...

It goes on the frame, not the tank.
Newer frames have a bolt on the rubber piece.Older ones it just slips on the frame and some glue holds it to the frame.

Thanks adidasguy! :thumb:

That's exactly what I was looking for. The diagram in the parts manual just shows that it attaches onto the tank somewhere, but it doesn't do a very good job of showing where.

Again, thanks for the help
