Title: New member, Rochester, NY
Post by: goobydoo on March 01, 2014, 08:39:06 AM
New member from the Rochester, NY area. My wife and I picked up a 2001 GS500 w/10k miles for $800 bones from its original owner.

Aside from needing tires and a bit of cleaning due to lack of chain cleaning before lubing, the bike is in great shape!

Greetings! I am from the Corning, NY area- just picked up my 05 gs500f last week. Its my first bike, and Im a chick. My husband has a YZF-R1- little too much bike for me. I paid a bit more for mine, sounds like you got a steal of a deal! Been a little cold for riding in these parts! Is your wife going to get a bike as well? Enjoy your new bike!

Nice!!! 800 bucks  :thumb: you made out great. Have you been able to ride yet? Road conditions and weather are still too crappy for me.

Thanks Jack its a pain to do this stuff from a phone...lol

I havent had it out lately as ive had the wheels off changing the tires. Hope to have them on within the next week or so and bundle up and start riding to work!  The cold isn't too bad with the right gear, the roads do have too much sand on them for me to feel comfortable riding 40-70 miles one way to work depending on my work location.

My wife just wants to tag along, she doesnt want the responsibility of riding her own:)

I'm originally from Rochester but down in Binghamton right now. I hope to be back in Roc in a couple months.

That is a nice looking gs. Very clean. For $800 that is awesome.

I'll definitely let ya know if I do head back to Roc!
