Title: Identify this part !!
Post by: willi4d on March 12, 2014, 11:55:15 AM
Long time reader, first time poster...can anyone tell me what this is? It may have come from the lower end of a 2009 GS500F motor. Thanks!

Oh, a new "What is this" game.

That is the clutch push rod - inside the engine - accessible when you remove the clutch basket.

It looks about the right size .. And no way am I gonna gain say Addy on this ...

... But ... I've only ever had my push rod out once .... I'm pretty certain mine did not have those little squarish cam looking widgets on the ends?? ... Plus I dint think it was quite that large

Are there different rods for different year bikes?? ... As in pre/post '00-'02 or something?  :dunno_black:

There is a round push rod that the clutch thingie pushes on. This part is inside the motor that your push rod pushes on and this thingie is what actually pushes on the clutch.
