Not sure on the brass thingie - I don't recall seeing that in a GS500. Trick question?
The pin is the contact pin for the neutral switch.
:dunno_black: on the brass thing....never seen any thing on a motorcycle that looked like that. Maybe some thing that was on your garage floor ?
Adidas - thanks again! Both pieces were on the garage floor. My 'shop' is my brother in law's garage, so they could've come from anywhere. But neutral position indicator pin it was :2guns:
