Title: FS/FT '08 Carburetor, Kreem liner kit and FREE Fuel Tank + misc ninja 250 parts
Post by: spareparts329 on March 17, 2014, 01:26:50 PM
PLEASE BE AWARE BOTH OF THESE ITEMS NEED SOME LOVE, ITS WHY THEY ARE CHEAP/FREE

I live in So-Cal, Ventura County if anyone wants to come pick these up.

The parts:
The carb is not functioning properly it may need a deep(er) cleaning/full rebuild or the vacuum switch/solenoid could be kaput, I never found out which because I had a second carb lying around and after I did my own cleaning on it, was still having issues, I just swapped and put it on a shelf. Part is clean, diaphrams are intact, float needles look OK, bike had ~1000 miles on it (sat for a couple years and rusted) idle screws have been drilled out by PO.

I'm gonna ask $75 USD+ S&H to anywhere you want it to go, OR... My front cowling got smashed, so I'm looking for either a cowling bracket+ cowling + headlight OR one of those universal headlights w/ mounting bracket for an F->E conversion.  So maybe if you have some of these items we could strike up some sort of gentlemanly trade agreement.

The fuel tank, oh god the fuel tank... Just take it, come pick it up or pay the shipping out to wherever its yours if you want it.

Not gonna lie it scratched and nasty on the outside, but its worse on the inside. Its probably the reason the carb is not doing so hot. Its rusted in a bad way, before I cleaned it (via electrolysis and a gallon of acetone) someone did a terrible job of lining it with Kreem, I was going to re-apply the Kreem after I cleaned it, but I found an new OEM tank on eBay for a decent price and went with that instead. Its got pinholes and needs to be lined, there is something funky with the fuel cap too, it'll be a project for sure. I don't want to throw it away, please take it.

Kreem Tank Liner Kit - LARGE - comes with the 85% phosphoric acid etcher, some MEK cleaner and a bottle of good old Kreem plastic liner. I was going to try to return it, but the company wants me to find the receipt, uhhh... Its near $50 something new and shipped, you guys can have it for $25 + S&H to wherever your little heart desires.

I'm also parting out my red '01 Ninja 250, engine is dead (no compression in R cylinder, oil from tailpipe), odo says 26k, all other parts available.

I also have:
Kawi OEM clutch cable NIB $10 + S&H
AM Flush mount turn signals with "carbon fiber" finish new, never installed - $10 +S&H
Some EBC organic rear brake pads, NIB - $15 + S&H

Thanks for looking,
Spare Parts

Is there any way the fuel tank would fit a 97 Gs?

There has been a lot of writing up about that ... but the short answer is it very much does, especially if you're willing to hammer out some sheet metal into a fairing carrier bracket ... and are doing some ungodly mess to the front of the seat ... or is that nothing needed there ... no idea, but I'll swing over there and give it a whirl if I were so inclined.
Cool.
