This will require tons of custom fab work. The bikes that run a single sided swing arm their farmes are deisgned differnently due to the twisting force on the frame. You will most likely need to reenforce the frame, buy a prefab swing arm, and wheel designed for the swing arm, run some thing like a sprotor (sprocket & rototor ) .

Also you need to keep in mind that when doing this you are changing the way the every thing about the bike , please track test before road testing.

nearly easier to buy a whole single swingarm frame and transplant the GS500 powerplant into it!!

I love my gs.....but if I wanted a single side swing arm and bought  one and a frame I'd be getting the motor for that frame

I do know of 2 people who have successfully done this. One guy is here on the forum, the other guy did it years ago on another forum. Both spent a VERY long time doing it, and spent more than you probably bought the bike for.
