I went out today with the intention of seeing if my Gs would Start as perfectly as it did when I put it back together. I tried to start it up and it was cranking trying to start. It's a little cold outside so after the first try.I waited 10 seconds and tried again it tried harder to start and I waited 30 seconds after that and it almost started up. So while waiting another 30 seconds I decided to check the color of my spark plugs. When I put the spark plug back in and put the cap back on I tried starting it again and when I pressed the starter button nothing happened. Then I noticed the lights went out except for a very very dim oil light. Anyone know what happened? I'm kinda freaking out. I check the fuse and it's fine and I made sure the spark plug cap was back on all the way and still nothing except the very dim light. HELP! Thanks in advance

Maybe you drained the battery of the power. Charge it up and try again. Dont crank forever though. Might sound dumb, but you do have the choke engaged right?

yes choke was on. I didn't know you could drain a Lithium battery that quickly

The dim oil light and poor cranking does point to bad battery.
Lithium battery ? you have one of those ? Or is it a wally world sealed - AGM ?
Cos I have not seen a Lithium in a gs.
Cool.

Shorai LiFe battery...
IIRC you just got this battery and put it in, right? ... These batteries do come mostly charged - if its anything like a regular lithium, they should have some charge. But if you had only been using it to start and idle, its very possible its been drained because the bike isn't able to charge the battery at idle. I can't remember the exact amount, but it takes a couple few thousand revs to have enough power to charge, below that it can only maintain or drain.

I have a battery tender junior, is it alright to charge with that or does it have desulfation mode?
NEWBIE
Depends on the tender. I have a 75mA trickle charger and it also acts as a charger. I think your tender would be fine using your tender to charge your battery.
Either it drained like BBoy said, not turning the motor fast enough to charge the battery every time you start it and let it idle (needs like a constant 5k rpm or higher), or you have a drain in your wiring system that is slowly grounding out and draining the battery. Lets hope it is the first one!
Tossed the battery on the charger and a few hours later I put it back on the bike and it started up

Newb always seems to be asking the same questions I have...
Generally speaking, about how long does the bike need to be running at-or-above 5k to fully charge a battery that's turning on lights but not turning over the engine?
Recharged battery the bike started after a 2 seconds of holding the starter button and I just to check the 5k rpm Charging system on the bike I put set to 5k rpm to make sure the system is in working order (which it is) and then pulled them back down when I cut the bike off.
