Title: Please Help Oil leak
Post by: GS Fan on April 18, 2014, 07:10:18 PM
I have a very slow leak coming from under the spark plug it looks like.

My main concern is the drip on the left side.
It only gives me a couple drips after I'm done driving the bike.
Oil level is still in the safe range although I do want the engine to remain dry on the outside.
Any suggestions on where to start?

Most likely one of the head gasket bolts or the valve cover gasket. No lace for oil to come from at the spark plug.
I see oil stains further up. Oilis  collecting around the spark plug and burning off.

Scrub the area. Sprinkle with baby powder. The source of the leak will show up as a stain in the baby powder.

Just to add to Adidas's advice, if you have a can of Brake Cleaner laying around, it'll really speed up the cleaning process. I clean my SV's engine with that stuff once a month, keep it looking good. I have a couple small oil leaks I'd rather clean up than fix at the moment
