Title: accidentally dropped shim into oil galley FIXED
Post by: Blueman on April 20, 2014, 11:04:55 AM
So while adjusting my valve clearance, i forgot to block off the oil galley and i dropped a shim down into it. I have no idea what to do now. Any help would be appreciated

I have a retractable magnetic pole that I generally use in situations like that. Although, it may get stuck to everything else, too. Might be worth a shot. That's all I can think of just short of removing the cams and everything else.

I did the same thing the first time I did my valves.  I used a small retractable and bendable magnet from Sears to fish it out.  It may take 15-30 minutes of fishing to get it out, but keep working and you'll eventually get it.
