Title: fuel cap key
Post by: sashkar2000 on April 22, 2014, 09:57:15 PM
I need to replace my fuel cap since the old one has an indentation in the rubber seal and lets water in.

Anyone know if the key can be swapped on the fuel cap or would i need to replace the ignition and seat locks as well to use a single key for all?

thanks!

doable, but seems pretty hard.

Just swap the rubber seal....easy!

The ignition is near impossible to remove.
Probably easier to have a lock smith re-key the gas cap.
I use RoarongToyz keyless gas caps. If you don't have worries about stealing gas, they are great.

I'm more worried about vandalism than the $10 of gas.

bfriedenberger,
I did't see the fuel cap gasket as a separate part. Where do you get it?

It's not just get a gs500 fuel cap and swap the rubber
