Post by: AnonRider on April 25, 2014, 01:59:10 PM
Anyone have this happen to them? Where the speedometer reads significantly less than what they're going. it'll read 10 and i'll be going 25, 15 for 30 etc

Cable might be loose or broken.
Check both ends.

Yes, as adidasguy said. My cable  nut end that connects to the speedo would constantly loosen just a little thread lock, never had the problem again.

I had an old Volkswagen do that once and I sprayed it with WD-40 and fixed it. Try it and see.

just dump a gallon of oil all over the bike?

i had changed the tachometer bulbs and cleaned out a bunch of black grease and gunk from the cable/thumbscrew

i never thought to grease it/oil it back up.
