Title: Installed the delkevic slip on, comparison video!-now i need help with popping
Post by: AnonRider on April 28, 2014, 02:54:10 PM

i unbox it, install it, compare it at the end. it's a much louder, and nicer sounding exhaust! i had a huge hole in the stock exhaust from the previous owner bottoming out, it was spewing all kinds of black stuff onto the tire- which i'm sure wasn't doing any good.

ok, new issue-

So when I'm putting on the throttle up to 7k it's fine, sounds impeccable, beautiful!

BUT when it revs down from the 7 through 4k it popps until I hit the throttle again.

WHAT DO I DO?!

when does the popping happen AnonRider? i get it when i heavily engine brake. Which my bike is running pretty lean. i had a problem with random popping when first installed and i changed out the main jet and it went away. so you might wanna try that.

I had this problem when I installed my full Jardine system. Its really nothing to worry about, its mainly just left over fuel exploding with the pressure of the cylinder when it goes up and down. Jetting should fix it and ease your mind though. Talk to buddah, he is the expert on jetting. Do you have any pictures of it from the side with this exhaust? Nice bike, and the Delkevic just adds to that :) Good job on the install too.

Thanks for the replies on the jetting! ... will have to figure out how to do that...

So I go to start the bike today and I realize I had left it on last night.. I was going to take a video to let you all hear when/how it pops... failboat.

Did get a quick picture, I was against the wall so I couldn't get the entire bike in the frame unfortunately.

I've got a gps holder and 12v outlet incase anyone was wondering what was going on up there.

So far it only pops once when cold when warming up. I don't think I need to rejet. Someone chime in here please

It should be fine and rejecting it isnt needed. do you still have the stock air box in? if so then you should be fine.

Its the same thing that I said earlier, it is the pistons still moving up and down in the cylinders exploding what little left over fuel there is. You'll be fine. I really liked my back fire sound :) Its typical for after market exhausts, and a just a slip on does not require rejetting, or even reprogramming on the newer sport bikes.

OKAY! I'm gonna go ahead and trust you on this. The last thing I want is for my baby to die on me.
