Title: anyone in Jersey with mechanical knowledge?
Post by: johnnys11 on April 29, 2014, 08:01:00 PM
Hey guys im looking for someone in New Jersey that can help me and my new 04 gs500. I just got it as a first bike and it has 16k. I want do a valve check and other maintenance but I prefer help as I never worked on a bike.
Bike has been siting for a week due to wheel issues but I got everything fixed but took it for a ride and the exhaust was popping after giving it a good amount of throttle, it also felt like the bike wasn't getting full power. what can be?
thanks in advance!

Where in Jersey?  (it's such a large state, LOL)  Or should I ask, "What exit?"

I could help you thru a valve check, adjust, and other maintenance...'

See, I knew to ask "what exit"....

We're a good two hours apart...so I probably can't give you and quick help in doing your shims.

If you are at least a bit mechanically inclined..there are many tutorials on the internet...
Not really a difficult job....just time consuming because you have to take a lot apart just to get to the valves...
