K way this will be made, I was both a jeweler and watchmaker by trade. Now onto the brace. they will be sanded and then painted black. ( with the shiny metal underneath. anyhoo when the engraver goes thru the paint you get shiny. this will be most noticeable on grumpy cat. the edges of the brace and screw holes will also have a very slight bevel. which in turn will put a very faint ring around it. ( for accent) , Now jim Knopf had spoken up for one first. I have to put him in number 2 slot. cause patricks brother gets the first one. . Jim gets the second one etc. whoever speaks up in order gets that slot. Now each will be hand engraved. anything done by hand, especially artwork, will have very slight differences. now I will take my time to do it right. cause there is no do overs lol. if I mess it up it goes to scrap metal. cause no way to redo. I will NOT mess up. how this will work is, I have one ready, ill contact the person who is up, and ask if they want. if yes, I ship to them, along with a return package which will be postage paid. ( THESE INTERNATIONAL ONES ARE GOING TO EAT ME ALIVE LOL. but yall are family too and I will treat you as addy would. to the best of my abilities, and with the utmost respect. ) you take, the engraved one out, , remove your stock one. install the engraved one. whichever side you choose. it will have both. you can change sides as you see fit. anyhoo you take out the postage paid return mailer, insert your stock one, and mail to me. I in turn engrave that one and it goes to next person. and the process begins anew. will have to do it this way until I have funds to grab a few braces.
Oh and grab a pic installed :) I know the one on a knopf bike will be awesome. this way Patrick will get a ride around the world ;) got Germany covered, will try to get Portugal as well, any one hta tknew him and wants one will be welcome. like I said, the international postage will be rough on me. however, I will do this on my own. this is my way of sayin I love you man. to Patrick and thank you for EVERYTHING you did for me. if someone could find me a lead on some billet ones, or some good stockers in bulk, id be greatful.
List in order:
1. Brother lajko ( and mama)
2. Jim knopf
3. xunedeinx
In. I'll buy a brace just to have one for my future bike.

a used one will work. cause its getting painted anyways before engraving. Oh I forgot to add, once finished im going to clearcoat it so rust and whatever else does not get into the engraving.
P.s. when the ebay one arrives, ill engrave it, then shoot it and post pics here so folks will know what the finished product will be. like I said, if anyone comes across a lead on a few braces. as long as theyre straight, lmk, would be nice to have a few extras on hand.
I will have one Aaron,
I may also be able to send you another brace as well, I think I have 2 here somewhere.

Will do my best :)Going to change the adidas logo to the other one. cause patricks logos were pretty much all the trefoil
I will look for the fork braces this weekend and send them to you :thumb:
This will be an awesome piece on any GS. Great thinking Yama! I'm going to order an Adidas shoe keychain for Gabby's key as well
I want to get this engraved on my thicker upgraded fork brace. Can we engrave the thicker braces as well? I'll send a couple stock braces along with mine to help restock ya. I'll try to remember to PM you after work today to touch base Yama.
We ride for Pat!

Indeed. the thick ones can be engraved as well. since these will be done one at a time, this may take a bit. that and the mental ass kicking ill be getting each time . that aside. its for my our beloved Patrick im/were doing this. heres the trefoil\

after I get back from UT HOSPITAL TREATMENT TODAY. ILL DO THE PRELIM, then post it here. but this is the stocker. im not worried about copyright issues. in fact I don't give a shît atm. anyhoo. if this takes off, ill have one I may take locally to jewelers or whomever has the machinery that can make a bunch of them and see. then again I may just keep doing them all by hand. I don't see the need to do a hundred. although close. we are a small group small in numbers. going to set one aside for john too. may jost make the overseas one just a gimme. that will be expensive going both ways. but ill have to have a few extras. weve got cods in Australia, jim knopf in Germany, going to be at least one in Portugal, etc. considering sending them all to one person centrally and having that person send out. Thoughts?
Wow super cool!
Yama, regarding the ability to do a bunch of these. Please check your PMs.
Forgive me. im apprehensive about doing this. Loved the guy , and want near perfection. its what hed ask for. he knows no one is perfect. If I want perfection, id get them machine produced. however.; I couldn't say that I did this or we did this. SOOOOO they will each be done one at a time by myself. using a dry erase marker to lay out the lines. the first one will be the hardest. once that is successfully done the rest will be easier. I am scared. I don't have a proper camera yet to film this. except for the tab 2. my vivitar is in the pawn shop atm., I hope to rectify the camera situation before long. . and film one being done. even if im no longer making them at that point. will do it for posterities sake. I hope Patrick approves. I know he will. hed be happy if it were done in crayon lol. I know how hed do things. he did it right. with attn. to detail. these will be done the same way. I will understand if yall don't want to run them on your bikes. but this is a way for Patrick , or his spirit at least to go for a ride whenever we do. hell, ill make ojne up for my goped. anyhoo updates to come. awaiting for first brace arrival. afaik its due by the 9th.
the updated adidas final concept. I like this one. Im sure Patrick would approve too. as soon as the brace arrives, ill get mike lajkos done, then Jim Knopfs done afterwards. looking at having a bunch done cnc style. but idk. or at least looking at having blanks punched. . anyhoo heres the concept (http://www.gs500.net/gallery/uploads/9/Patrick_final.jpg)

Perfect Aaron :thumb:
What about one that says, "Illegal Gravel"?
I like that final design a lot, definitely had to be a trefoil! I was picturing Adidasguy below and the dob/dod in there somewhere. Nice touch having them in the lines! I'm stoked on this. I would love to have a yama custom hand done one for my Gabby. No rush, I can wait for it.
I'll get a few stock braces and will send them over asap for practicing yama. Then the next time I pull my front wheel - I'll pull the brace as well and send it over. I'll use a stocker while you have mine(that will give me a little test to see how well that brace is working as well.)
Without Pat's help Gabrielle wouldn't have finished as well as she did. We split shipping on our LSL levers. He gave me the idea of; the gimbel rearsets(also helped walk me through the install), the harley stick on reflectors, '89 clip ons, cowltech rear cowl, hell even my white wheels(after seeing Suzi with them I knew that's what i wanted). He literally gave me(wouldn't even take shipping, but i snuck him some :icon_mrgreen: ) for the gimbel passenger pegs and many more little things. Pat sold me; the gimbel chin fairing, r&g bar ends and shark fin, carb boots, misc hardware, key/lock set, and lots more I'm sure I'm forgetting.
An amazing guy and will truly be missed. He had such a positive outlook that the even though he's no longer with us in the flesh, the world and the people he's touch are in a better place because him.
I'm terribly inarticulate in times like this, excuse me if that makes no sense haha..
