This is an '01E chassis with an '07F engine in it. The reason for all the bike work? Last year was my first season and the bike broke down on me. It was my first time owning a bike and to be honest I wasn't aware of any of the maintenance work required. I WAS told about them but as a stubborn young man ignorant to the responsibilities of owning and maintaining a motorcycle, I didn't listen.
I thought about upgrading to a bigger bike, but chose against it instead because of the cost of insurance. I bought a crashed 2007 gs500f from a generous man who sold me his bike for a very generous price.
I spent the whole winter and then some, putting this together with help of some good buds. Let's just say... many coffees were drank, many cigarettes were smoked, many sockets were misplaced, and maaany trips to the local canadiantire/home-depot were had.

More pictures. Brighter pictures. PLEASE!
Nicely done man. I love cafes, and miss my old one from time to time. I like what you did with the gauge, headlight, and aftermarket clip ons, looks extremely good. The r6 front end would be a lot of work, but it would be so sick. That would top this build off.
Looks great but as gorilla said more pics and brighter
Sent from my heart using my fingers
And a view from the front too please! I'm curious how that new gauge looks with the headlight. I imagine it cleans up the front end a ton and looks awesome.
Very Nice dude. I'm doing something similar. Will post pics fairly soon.
Nice!!! I like the silver tank with the brown seat (and grips)... +1 to the many cups of coffee!!! (and beers for me as well when working on stuff lol)
I agree with the others... would love to see more pics and some front of the bike angles. How comfy is the seat?

i have done some changes on the bike since then lol. you know what's funny... i have never ridden this bike for a full summer season (from toronto). i always come up with problems. my motorcycle license expired, but i'm trying to get the bike back in tip top shape again. i will post new pics once i am finished once again.
the seat is extremely comfy. however, aesthetic wise, i wasn't too happy with it. i got my mom to sew it for free so i guess i can't complain. however, this time around, i will get it professionally upholstered. i'm going for aesthetic over comfort this time. lol.
Nice job! Our bike projects kinda look alike :D
Could you post some close up pics of your gas tank? I've been tempted to find a second one to do that bare metal look.
PS that K&N lunchbox and open exhaust combo can be made to run just fine..
Got any more pics?
Dude, I love YOU is awesome! In fact, all moms are awesome!
