Title: Carb rebuild with K&L 18-9310 kit - question
Post by: snOhio on May 19, 2014, 04:02:01 PM
Hi guys,

Like the title says, i'm in the process of rebuilding my carbs.  I was having a fueling issue and seeing as how the bike is 21 years old I figured this was probably a good move.  I'm looking at three o-rings in the rebuild kit.  One large one that apparently attaches to the float.  One medium size one that appears to sandwich between the black hat and the carb body for the vacuum port.  The last one is smaller still, and i can't figure out what it goes to.  Nothing seems to be particularly obvious.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

Under the idle mixture screw.

that's what i was afraid of.  what's the best way to coax the washer under the spring out without damaging it?

Air screw, not idle screw.
And its probably fine in yours, you can remove the cap if you haven't already done so, then unscrew it and note where the spring, washer and O ring go - in that order, and then swap the O ring ...
Or you are likely OK and ignore it.

BTW they omit the float seat one and the white slide guide one - and that's why we rarely recommend those things. If you need a float gasket, you buy it, else buy your O rings 1 at a time.

Cool.
