years might catch you.... might?! ... the plug connector under the tank could vary ..
however.... for suzuki stuff fitting other suzukis ... last year or so i was having wiring problems... ended up not being the switch .. BUT .. borrowed a left side cluster from a mate to check .. off his '98 GSXR600 SRAD ... same look as my 06 gs500f ... plug the same as well!!... went straight in and did function the same...
the older type switches were cosmetically different ... dont know for certain that they changed the wiring into the harness though... youd have to check in the manual for the years involved and trace down the diagram to see if they routed anything in a different position?
I'm not looking for a plug and play if that's what you mean thanks for info definitely helps looking for the newer style control and wire into existing plug looking for anything that will work of anyone has info

if you are going to wire it in then i think practically anything could work .... :icon_question: .. just a matter of still referring to the diagram of what wire is what and putting in right spot....
apart from the wiring though... the choke lever .. and how it connects to the cable .. is the only other issue i can think of.... but again.... i 'think' that suzuki might not have changed the actual 'mechanics' of that sort of thing... just the cosmetics..
if bar size is also same diameter and so on then id think it will be a goer ... ? ... of course as always, im happy to be corrected... :icon_mrgreen: .. then i just update my mental catalog of trivia!
ive changed both plugs from the right and left sides on bars now... the heat from the engine plus electrical load had softened and melted a couple wires... was having all sorts of random issues... works fine now... but if myself or anyone ever needs to change the clusters .. its gonna be a bit tiresome! :icon_rolleyes:
Thanks for your information and help Janx hopefully other people can chime in also I'm sure some gs owners with older bikes might like different switches to get rid of faded or worn switches
