Title: Accidentally falling into neutral from 2nd
Post by: Blueman on May 22, 2014, 09:18:46 AM
A few times this season, after shifting from first to second and then before i get into 3rd, i somehow fall back down into neutral. Its not as soon as i shift into second either, it will take a few seconds of accelerating in 2nd gear before i fall into neutral and rev my rpms. I am curious to know if this is just my fault by not doing a complete shift or if maybe there is something i can adjust on the bike so this wont happen.  For the most part, i shift from 2nd to 6th without using the clutch for faster and smoother shifting

Might need a 3 point clutch adjustment.

I've noticed that I get incomplete shifts when my sprocket cover is packed full of road junk. Open it up and clean it out

Sounds like a false neutral....shift more positive in the correct rev range and if your not wearing motorcycle boots maybe get some.
