Title: Helmet camera
Post by: Jimbob on May 25, 2014, 05:58:44 AM
Hey guys I'm just wondering what cameras you use or would recommend? I don't want to spend a lot of money otherwise I would buy a go pro but still want decent video quality and night vision if possible.
Cheers

I use a Drift Ghost - perfect for helmet use, although not as flexible mounting wise as the GoPro. It is, however, much more aerodynamic, so no buffeting at speed, and no looking like a tellytubby - it's black, slim and discrete. The only problems I had were firmware based, although the GoPro's seem to be worse affected by software bugs. You can probably pick up a cheapish used one on eBay.

I'll have a look at the drift or go pro's I was hoping to get a camera that's more cyclinder shaped so it doesn't stand out as much

i've been pretty happy with my sony actioncam. it wasn't that much and the attachments aren't too expensive.

Contour looks like it has some fairly inexpensive options with decent reviews. Haven't used one myself, but I do see them pop up on WOOT occasionally.

I have a contour and the picture quality is brilliant.
