Okay here is a video on my way to work today I drove maybe 1 minute down my street and bike died at stop sign and wouldn't turn on pushed it home now it makes this noise what does it mean? I charged my battery and nothing. Pulled spark plugs they looked fine as well. And I have oil in the bike
Unrelated maybe? My bike has been flooding recently idk why I took the carbs off and bench synced them and they worked good yesterday I drove 30+mins and they were fine so I must of solved that issue?
I'm assuming the starter clutch isn't engaging? If this is the case anyone have and howtos?

Sounds like the starter is turning but the solenoid isn't extending the gear.
The starter is easy enough to get to, it's the access panel on the engine directly under the carbs. Remove tank, remove carbs, reach in through the top.
Sounds like your rotor is slipping on the crankshaft or the starter clutch isn't engaging
I had this problem with a Jeep, stalled out and then started making that noise. I know it's not a gs500 but the noise was pretty much identical. I made sure the teeth on the starter weren't stripped or anything which they weren't, I think one last jolt just killed the old starter. I ended up just replacing the starter and it solved the problem.
This is the stater clutch starter is fine, Adidas guy posted a video on you tube about this repair

You can also pick up a drain plug for a 2002 honda civic from your auto parts store to use as the 14 x 1.5 bolt. I would suggest using valve grinding compound on on the tapper

Also consider locktite 660, search for my slipping rotor saga to see why.

I watched his video the other day and had the identical noise I opened it up and put blue loctite like him and tighten it down works great now except a day later I went riding and my bike died at a red light and I tried to start it but it started making the noise again I bump started the bike and had multiple times where I turned the bike on and it cranks right up so I'm guessing fixed for now lol
starter clutch or chain.
