Title: fuel mix screws on bike
Post by: rexpepper651 on June 11, 2014, 11:45:44 AM
i just got done doing some work and went riding yesterday. everything was well and dandy besides the low idle. i changed out my main jets adjusted the needle and turned the mix screws out 3 turns. now when i set the idle after being warm it hangs up at 3k for a while and doesnt really come back down. i did the wd40 test after i balanced my carbs and found no leaks. now can i adjust these screws with the carbs on the bike? or is this going to be a hassle more then taking the carbs off? i really dont feel like doing that again.

some added info
37.5/127.5 jets
v&h exhaust
foam drop in filter

i turned the screws out 3.5 and it idles alot better now after being hot. still having problems bogging down in first from idle to 3k rpm. did u-tube test on the float bowls and gas is right at the gasket. im having problems balancing the carbs. i made a yard stick balancer with oil in it. i can get them balanced while i have the screw driver on the screw but once i take it off they go out of balance. tried balancing them for a good 20 mins and wouldnt stay. wth is going on? at 18k miles would my valves be out of spec ?
