Title: tank mold trim
Post by: Gorilla on June 13, 2014, 02:23:40 PM
http://www.suzukipartshouse.com/oemparts/a/suz/50d3f3a0f8700230d8b4c111/fuel-tank-model-m

So I need to order a new tank mold trim. Part #4 in the above link for example.

The problem is I don't know which tank I have. Also is there any specific adhesive I should use?

FUEL TANK (MODEL K/L)
FUEL TANK (MODEL M)
FUEL TANK (MODEL N/P)
FUEL TANK (MODEL R/S/T)

I'm pretty sure they are all the same for pre '01.   I didn't use adhesive on mine.  It just fits over the lip.  I have to pop mind back on every once in a while when I catch it while working on the bike or something.

+1.

I've also used the "rubber channel" that some Lawn Tractor seats are held on with.  It's a U-Channel Rubber with a "fabric sheath" (in most cases) and it looks pretty darn similar to the OEM stuff.  (It's a little more expensive than the door edge molding and is usually just black in color. though).

I think the best bang for the buck is the door edge molding.  It's cheap, does the job, available in tons of colors, chrome, gold etc and available anywhere..
