Title: Trail tech vapor tach issue
Post by: Nocluejoe on June 23, 2014, 05:48:25 PM
Any one know witch resistor/ or tachometer wire to buy for 04+ gs500? Everyone seems to have an older gs when the put the trail tech on.

Right now I have it wrapped around the right coil and it reads fine below 4500 but It seems like it won't get above there even tho I know I am any suggestions?

I think you can use your OE wire, it should be black with a red stripe going up the OE tach, also I think you can tap into one of the coil wires

The red and black wire did not work and wrapping around the coil is extremely jumpy I researched a little more and people wire in a resistor so I'm going to get a 600k 1/4 watt resistor and try that

I don't know what I am doing I tried wiring in a resistors but each time no luck I tried to wire 6 100k 1/4 watt resistors in series with no luck then I tried wiring 2 1meg resistors in parellel with 1 100k resistor In series and I'm sure I wired it wrong as I have no idea what I'm doing but that didn't work either.

I tried tapping into the coil wire the black and yellow on the right side (exhaust side) and that did not work either

Does anyone have an tips? Maybe someone can show me how to wire the resistors in series and parralel lol I just checked my 1meg resistors and they are 1/2 watt but I don't think that matters someone help :/  :dunno_black:
