Title: Valve cover
Post by: Jimbob on June 30, 2014, 08:29:20 PM
Hey guys do you out anything on the valve cover gasket to get it to stay in while your putting the cover back on to stop the gasket falling out of the grove?

I always found it far easier to lay it on the engine head first. Get it roughly in place, then kind of wiggle the cover into place, making sure the gasket is seated properly all the way around before tightening the bolts.

No harm in using some sticky bearing grease to make the gasket stick. If anything, it might even keep the gasket soft and from hardening up and sticking to the metal over time.
