Title: 115 main jets on k3 gs???
Post by: nathaniel2910 on July 08, 2014, 02:53:35 PM
Hey guys,
Just rejetted my supposed stock gs carb,
Jets were idle 17.5 (now 20), mid 60 and mains 115????????(now 135)
This is a uk model k3 but the main jet is supposed to be a 127.5 according to the wiki.
All I can think of is it's somehow been restricted for uk laws of 33hp.
But the slides seem fine two holes at the bottom, needles have the thick washer then white plastic washer then thin washer above the clip.
Everything else is stock so I don't see why the main jets are so low?

Anyone have any other ideas why the main jets are so much lower than they should??
The bike seems to perform fine,
Not done a WOT plug chop so unsure if it was fuelling fine with the main jets.
Bike does pull to at least 100mph on the clock.
Very strange

Nothing strange about it at all. Differences in fuel make up and emission regs mean the Uk and USA versions are jetted differently from the factory. The wiki relates predominantly to USA specs.  I cant confirm what size should be stock for yours but its no surprise to see there is a difference  :dunno_black:

I've read from some other UK members that they have also seen/pulled 115 mains from their carbs - seems it indeed is an emissions thing.

135 may have over done it if its all stock. But run it and test it.
Cool.
