Post by: inlineupgrade on July 26, 2014, 02:30:07 PM

It would only let me upload one pic at a time because the files are too big. More pics to come soon though!

Here's a pretty quick walk through of the process. I kinda wanted to stop with the the front fairing still on. It reminded me of a land shark. But I'm happy I finished the conversion. I think I'll name her "Venom". Haha. I will be doing a photoshoot soon of the bike and will post all the yummy pictures.

Looks good..but think you should go for a nice big round headlight. Just my 2 cents

That makes a total of 4 cents ;)
I like the conversion, but to make it briliant it needs just a little more "wow".

I looked at the round headlight from the 90's model. I do like the style, and for a different bike, I probably would have gone that route. For my bike though I just think it looks so much sleeker with the stock headlight remounted. I love the old standard bike look, but for this one, I think this headlight fits better.

I like the headlight too.  Well from a distance, maybe up close, tabs and edges look like something is missing.  Sweet pics!  Well except the one of that squid you let sit on yer bike!  :icon_razz:

I didn't want to remove the tabs. It looks a bit messy up close, but it saves my resell value. Also, I plan on doing winter riding and I may (probably not, but just in case) want to put the fairings back on. Since I kept my tabs on the headlight, I can remount in the front plastic. And he's an old friend that saw me out riding and wanted to check it out. Been trying to convert all my friends into motorcycle riders. Alas, to no avail.
On another note, I'm stealing my work camera this weekend and going to have a bunch of good ol' pictures to put up with one of my fraternity brothers. Stay tuned!

Nice. I was thinking of some winter riding my self..maybe some distenzas as I live in MA and we get snow in the winter. My wife wants me to get a drz if I am going to be a dumby and ride in the snow but unless I can find one for the same cost as two new avons I think the gs is going to see some snow this winter.

I live in Mississippi, and we don't get much snow. But with the amount of humidity in the air, it feel super cold in the winter. My gs will see every kind of weather, and I'll love every minute of it!

That is the way it should be. Plus I will find it funny when I am tooling along past a D bag in his Merc G wagon that is stuck because he was going 50 in the snow because he drives an SUV. (Everyone here thinks that a SUV makes driving in the snow like driving on a normal dry road here)
