Title: 94 GS500E parting out (Edit, I guess it's a 97?)
Post by: tntmo on September 14, 2014, 05:45:28 PM
A buddy asked me to help him get rid of his GS500, I figured I'd help out some members here if anyone is interested.  It had a stripped out shift shaft several years ago, he took it apart and purchased the required items to fix it but never got around to it.  So, we have an engine torn completely down and ready to put back together.

The tank has a bit of rash on the left side, as do the rear plastics.  Speedometer is a bit busted up.  Heck I'll get pictures up here soon and you can just ask for any items you'd like and we'll make a deal.

Tom

I forgto to mention that I'm active military, so sometimes I'm not home or available to reply right away.

I will send pics to each of you for the headlight and the speedometer in a few days.

Thanks for your patience.

Some pics.  I have the entire engine (disassembled) and pretty much everything else.  Will have the key soon, so will be able to see if the tank is rusty or not.

Sweet it's an orange one  :D  How much would you want for (what's left of) the front fender shipped to PA?  Also, is there any heat damage/melting on it?  Many thanks tntmo!

I forgot to mention that I will also be getting the CA title (registered non-op) if anyone needs a frame, and also getting the key set so will have ignition with matching tank and seat release/helmet lock.

Both wheels are already spoken for locally, sorry.

Ok, got a bunch of the bike stripped down.

I have a good wiring harness and all electrics including the handlebar controls, the ECU, the regulator/rectifier, etc.

Good set of turn signals.

Tail light is in good shape.

Seat is pretty good, has a small hold under the right side on the front but can't see it when the seat is on.

Still no keys, so can't see what the tank looks like....should have keys next week.

Complete engine, so if you need anything I have it!  Vesrah complete gasket set.  Found a repair manual as well.

Get some parts, make me an offer!

what kind of repair manual?

Looks like the factory Suzuki one.  I'll check it again to make sure, and to make sure it's all there.  It's in a three ring binder.

I don't suppose the crankshaft is available (and in good condition)? PM me a price if so, with shipping to Texas.

I added a bunch more pictures to the first post.  Lots of  good stuff left and I want you all to have it.  Ask if you don't see it pictured, I'm making deals and want it gone.

No key yet, I'm going to see if my locksmith can help me out to get the tank open.

I also have a CA title for the frame, registered non-operational so no back fees due.

also if its for sale, does it still have the camshaft boots/bolts?

Sold everything I had locally.  Hope everyone enjoys the deals they got and keep their GS500's on the street or track.   I'm hoping that my next GS is not a basket case.
