Saw this earlier today and thought I'd share on here (since a bike is involved lol)... I would be soooo scared of being followed, shot, run over, etc but I have to admit, I get a bit irritated when people litter. I keep my vehicles spotless but if there is no garbage can around I keep my garbage with me until I find one.

... I shamefully admit that I've done something similar... Not on some spree like this, but I have thrown something discarded from a persons vehicle back at them. I posted about it a little while back within a thread. Basically, a truck driver threw out his cigarette butt and it landed inside my visor. I always have my visor cracked, but I also always wear sunglasses or clears... So it didn't hit my eyes, but it was still burning in the corner of my visor, with the filter resting against my cheek. I was left furious, and couldn't stand the fact he would never know he could have killed me from an act he probably does several times a day, had I not done something about it...
I didn't handle it well to say the least. I think he tried to apologize, but I didn't let him and I wasn't going to stick around to hear a lame excuse for it either. It wasn't the first time a discarded cigarette had affected my riding either, have burn marks on my gear from ash previously.
I really don't share that story to gloat or something, I'm not proud of it. I could have handled it much better and pulling over sooner to just cool off and get my head straight would have been better yet. I share it so that others may think about it should something similar happen to them, and be less caught by a thoughtless reaction.

I remember you sharing that story before! That cig could have caused a very nasty chain of events... could have burned your eye/skin... certainly cause for anger. It is very easy to react a certain way without thinking, it happens! I think it is very admirable that you take a positive approach to sharing that story and try to deter others from acting in a way they may later regret. 8)
I had an incident this weekend where someone passed me, a passenger threw a cigarette butt out, and it hit the front of my bike. Having seen that video, I must say I thought about doing something crazy, but fortunately I was enjoying the ride so I instead slowed down and let them get well ahead.
One of these days cameras and associated technology will lead to people who do that kind of thing routinely getting fined. Littering in its many forms is one of the most under-prosecuted crimes today. Unfortunately I fear the same technologies will lead to over-prosecution of more innocent fun like going slightly over the speed limit on twisty roads.
You want to stop littering.
In West Virginia, when you cross the state border, there is a big sign that posts the fines for littering. The maximum fine is $20,000!
Now what they need to do is offer bounties, where people with video cams can video the offenders and collect a reward for providing evidence of a criminal act.
The over reaction, tossing ashes and other debris on the driver of the car is a serious invitation to further escalation by the driver, which could involve deadly consequences.

Wow.
Throwing a cig out the window is one thing (be careful!!!), but whole bags of trash and bottles and other crap?? Seriously?
Rock on biker girl!! That ashtray in that BMW was the best.
All I have to say is :thumb:  :woohoo:
So often I have wanted to do the same thing but rarely get the opportunity and if I did dunno if I'd have the balls to confront someone like that...
I can't stand lazy people like that... and yes that Beemer was the best :thumb:
