Title: Carburetor Bowl Drains Leaking Fuel
Post by: mjslive2fly on October 12, 2014, 07:10:08 PM
Hi all,

I've got an '02 GS with 7.5k mi.  Lately I'm seeing several drops of fuel leaking from the carb bowl drains when it cools down from a ride.  The drain screws are tight and was wondering if this is a common issue and/or anything to worry about.

Thanks

they don't normally leak from the drain screws. to be 100% sure its not the drain screw you could add a GASOLINE rated o-ring. around the shank of the bolt, and tighten it up against the bowls.

but most likely is, the bowel gasket went bad. and needs replacing, it commonly flows down to the drain screws and drips from them when this happens.
