Title: Stuck in first.
Post by: Viptrd on October 17, 2014, 10:33:04 PM
Hello all,

I picked up my Gs the summer of '13 and have loved it so far but its giving me transmission issues. When in 1st gear stopped at the light i try to go into neutral but they shifter wont budge. I've tried rolling back and forth and easing the clutch off and on but nothing. I did accidentally overfill on oil at a point but removed some. My next step is to inspect the clutch plates over winter. I've searched the forum for a solution but only find people having problems with the bike not going into gear or popping out. Any ideas on this would help. Thanks!

You're getting stuck in gear when stopped ?
From first you're trying to shift to what 2nd or neutral ?
Push it back more than forward, that seems to unload it and shift it better.
Cool.

Yes when stopped in first gear I cannot go into neutral nor second no matter how hard I try to engage it. The first 5 mins of stop and go traffic are ok after that its stuck when stopped at a light until I take off, then i can get any gear I want. I'll try rolling backwards more next time I'm on.
Thanks

It may be a your clutch cable that's a bit too loose. I'd guess tis not a very deep issue.
Cool.

My bike does this too, when stopped my first gear is really stuck, If I bend down and use my hand I can pull it into second, but finding neutral is really hard. I tried the rolling thing. Didn't seem to help. What do you all think?

Hey I tightened my clutch cable some and added new oil and I don't seem to have this problem as much anymore. Might work for you too.
