I'm changing up the bars on my GS500E as the clip on steal bars were bent in an accident.
Ive already ordered the throttle, choke, and clutch cable. I just need the brake line now. As I know the stock line will be to short with taller bars.
So if some one could measure the length of their line that would be very helpful!
Thanks guys!
I can't, but check the part numbers between the brake line for different models. If an 89 brake line has the same part number as a 99 and a 2009, then the lengths are the same as well.
Sorry if that's not any help......
sadly they're different part numbers :-/
I measured my 02 GS front brake line as best I could right now and got about 31" between fitting hole ctr lines. Don't know how much you're raising your bars but I have oem bars with GenMar risers that raise my bars 1" up and 1 3/8" back with original oem hose. I had to take one of the grommets loose where the hose goes thru a center bracket to relocate the line a bit to get all the extra length where it's needed when wheel drops. It's been that way now for almost 100k miles so I guess it was long enough. :icon_lol:
Bike was on side stand, I'd throw it on the centerstand and hang the wheel for a better measure but me and my back aren't getting along right now.

awesome! thanks!
Also my buddy owns a custom shop and is dead set on making bracket for the 6 piston caliper off a Busa. Any one else interested?
might be doing a group buy.
