I pulled out my battery on the GS500 and its cells are a little low on water.. a couple of them are a good half inch below the 'low' line. Question is, whats the easiest way to get water into those tiny holes they give you? Any tips?
Also, I assume you use distilled water correct? Is the kind you buy from the grocery store appropriate or should I be purchasing something else?
**Update** Ok, so I hooked it up to the Battery Tender Jr, and now I have lots of bubbles in the battery, almost like its boiling inside of it? But slower.. but its enough to see a couple bubbles every few seconds.. is that what its supposed to do or is something wrong here?
Grocery store distilled is fine, any distilled water will do.
Big syringe without the needle, ear wash bulb, eye dropper if you are real patient, roll a real tiny funnel out of a piece of plastic or waxed paper, a drinking straw (put it in the distilled water as far as you can, cover the end with your finger, transfer to battery, release), water pistol, .....
Some great ideas there.. thanks.. never thought of some.
Nope, the 'bubbles' are normal! It's just outgassing.
Turkey baster works well for me, but i keep a sport bottle with snap open top, the squeezable type for my battry work
Yes like Maniac said the bubbles are normal. In fact if you you have any cells that are not bubbling those sell could very well be bad.
Here is what I use. I keep it in the toolbag that I pack for day trips (or longer). It's 4" tall with the cap on, and holds ... maybe 2 ounces?
