Title: Headlight cut-off while starting
Post by: lucas on November 10, 2014, 09:16:16 PM
The headlight on my '92 stays on while starting.  It caused me a bit of a problem when by battery was low and wouldn't turn over (but just barely)

Is there a model year that cuts the headlight during starting?  If so, I'd like to find the writing diagram and see if I can adapt the writing on my bike.

Look into the F model wiring. The positive constant wire to the high / low beam runs thru the starter button. IIRC, the plastic plug on the wiring harness is different than the E model.

Yes the later models have a relay that cuts the light during starting....this is true for '09 model...I once looked thru wiring diagrams to find the year of that change, but now forgot....

If you can get a shop manual, it has addendum for each year and diagrams, so you cna figure..

Or just try the bike!
