Title: chain/alignment
Post by: Pete226 on November 10, 2014, 11:35:18 PM
Hi all,
I'm having a issue with my rear wheel alignment. Ok I undone the Axel bolt and adjusted the left/chain side to align the chain but now when I try to align the right side to match it does not loosen any further. From the rear of the bike my left side notch is on 3 but my right is only on 1 and I can't work it out how to bring it forward again, its doing my head in. Any help would be greatful.
Thanks
Pete

I just loosen the adjusters on both sides and grabbing the passenger handle tight from behind to hold bike on centerstand I kick the tire forward some and then after snugging the axle bolt down a bit I draw it back on both sides to get it into adjustment.

and what if the axle won't extend further? (The opposite case) What can we do?

I think when you have reached the end of the adjuster it means you need to buy another chain

I have the problem at the middle of the adjuster... Isn't there a spring or something inside the bars that push the Axel to the rear of the bike?

No spring, you move it forward and adjusters pull it back.  Another thing you can do if you just need to move the right side forward a tad is grab the center of the lower run of the chain and push down hard and then bump the rear of the tire over with the heel of your hand.
