Title: Help me find: best, frugal tank pads. Knees and front. 06 500F
Post by: JM500 on November 15, 2014, 10:09:37 AM
Hey everyone I really want to get some tank pads, but googling is just a pain in butt and not finding what I'm looking for :technical:

I want 3 tank pads the 2 side and center but I would prefer the center not to be as much that funky sport bike design that is pretty common. I looking preferably for black. And a reasonable price that's fits my F model tank.

Thank you 500 gurus!!

I have my tank and tail plastidipped black. When I get pads Im going to peel, install pads, and than redip taping off pads than I will have plastidip that does not get scuffed by my legs and the matte black tank I want....so I have to find pads....

plus tille keep y knees from sliding around

Tech Spec snake aren't exactly "frugal" but DO work. Lots of cushion and grip so that you can leverage your knees for control.

I found a set on eBay for around $60 shipped.

As you said, they don't use that "typical sport bike" design that is played out.

I'm assuming I shpuld look at the sv650 version in each of those pads I kike that the stompads come in glossy black but I also like the tech speck c3 version and snake skin have a cushion factor not just grip and tank protection

Hmmmm

just glue some leather to the tank... It's what I planned on doing to my GS!  :cookoo:

the upside is, you can have any shape you want!

the downside is.

you gotta keep it oiled. so it doesn't dry/get cracked.
