Title: Turkey day fun
Post by: The Buddha on November 27, 2014, 09:16:54 PM
I made 3 legs this time around. I cant tell you how much better than the whole bird it was for just the 2 meat eaters in my house.
Kiddo loved it, scarfed down some mashed potatoes and gravy and 1 leg. I had 1.5 potatoes and 1 leg. And the 1 left over leg, is well, 1 leg, will get eaten tomorow. No more 3 days of turkey taco nights for months together.
Fantastic. I actually was toying wiht going lamb or steak instead of turkey, but turkey worked good, just not the entire bird.
Cool.

I consider boiling water a skill. Boil plenty of it for tea, but I cant do much else.
I make things I think are fantastic, but on one else eats em. Like a toasted donut. Or a toasted Twinkie. Or toasted rasagulla. Toast anything, it turns out good.

So OK. Its a miracle anything turned out edible.

Lamb I'd have bought biryani cut from muslim meat shop and rubbed oil on it and toasted it 20 min. Then handed off to my wife who'd make the cream curry that it gets dropped in.

Then we eat.
This way atleast, I was the only one to cook it before we ate it. My wife had to say, OK kiddo ate a lot, you should have made a good one.

Cool.
