Title: Lane Splitting Petition
Post by: cbrfxr67 on December 12, 2014, 09:18:39 AM
I looked but didn't see anyone posted this already.  Still has a long way to go but if you think lane splitting should be a legal option, please sign.  I am for lane splitting here in (fargin ridiculous traffic) Houston.  Even if you personally don't split, please support us riders that do.  Not trying to start a debate on it, just spreading the word that a petition is available to promote legalizing it.

Id support it nationwide IF the moto rider cant sue if they collide with a car. If theyre judged to be at fault. Many variables here. I cant even get any help as a cyclist. Legally cannot ride on sidewalks. I get hit when riding on roads. Were required to obey laws pertaining to cages. Anyhoo i digress, the original point is if splitter collides with a stopped car, err clips a stopped car, who is deemed at fault?. Id support it nationwide. Idk if i can sign a petition pertaining to houston while i live 800 miles away in tn. If i can my friend, i surely will

I'm all for lane splitting in STOPPED traffic. I have been riding bikes for 18 years now...the way folks
cut in/out/between of lanes in California to me is too stressful, especially when I'm in an SUV with
plenty blind spots. But traffic jams with stopped traffic, or red lights creep ahead of line etc....definitely!!

I'm for it in stopped or slow moving traffic (less than 10mph or so).

Bike clips car, bike at fault.  Common sense to me.  I'm sure some drivers will be malicious and try to stop bikers with their cars, though, and as such I sure as hell won't be doing it without surveillance equipment on board.

Signed, and will try to promote where possible.

Looks like as of right now it's falling kind of short, and that's putting it mildly.  I'd promote it more but I'm not active on any other motorcycle message boards or anything...
