Hello folk, I will be changing the oil in my forks over the upcoming holiday, I have a small oil pump, is there any reason I can't just suck the old oil out and fit new , without removing the forks from the bike and striping the them?
Thanks Woko.
That's the lazy method, it works ;)
Just take care adjusting the level acc. to the manual!
I would recommend you do it the regular way. Its not that hard if you have a Haynes manual. I got a lot of oil out when I pumped the forks that you won't get the lazy way.

thanks I will have a think,
:)
The biggest problem with sucking it out is that the part you leave in is the gunkiest stuff, full of sludge and wear metals. Pulling forks off is actually pretty easy, and makes the job simple and fast.
Hi guys , what I did was remove fork tubes , give to motorcycle shop to replace seals , fork oil , what ever else was needed , then put back on bike , worked best for me , happy holidays to all ......... rg500gamma
thanks folk, I will post the result, I will have a go with the pump and see what happens, if I feel it's not right I will do it the way it say in the manual.
