Anybody know how to determine the paint color codes for a particular model/year.
At ronayers.com they have the color code fiche but I can't make heads or tails of it. Do some of the numbers or letters identify model years and others parts of the bike (ie bodywork, frame, wheels).
Here is a link to the charts but it may not allow a direct link, http://www.ronayers.com/fiche/300_0027/color_table_2/color_table_2.cfm
If not, select >fiche >suzuki >gs500e >1993 >color table 1 (and 2).
I have a 93 GS with the following generic color descriptions and am looking for the specific color codes so I can look for matching touch up paint.
Black (tank, front fender and body work)
White (wheels)
Silver (frame)
Black - glossy (engine sidecovers)
Black - not glossy (engine cases, side stand, center stand, torque link)

Black(tank/bodywork): Pearl Novelty Black / 33J (fact. code)
Colorite # 4067 @ //www.colorite.com
White (wheels): Testers Model car paint "White" in the little bottle.
(not spray)
Matches exactly and stays on forever. ...and cheap to boot! :thumb:
What more could you ask for??? Don't forget to get a brush... or 2 so you'll have one for the next time.
The rest most people I know repaint the entire frame or semigloss black and gloss black engine areas with the generic rattle-can paint of their choice.
Plasti-cote/Rustoleum/Krylon/ (a good brand).
I used some "Steel Wheels" paint on my GS and it matches the factory pretty close but I repainted the entire frame.
Thanks for the reply.
I think the correct link is http://www.color-rite.com.
Where do you get the white paint you mentioned?
I'd rather not repaint the entire frame so I'm still interested if anybody knows the color code for the silver frame on a 93 GS.

The Testors Model car paint BanannaMan is refering to the little glass bottles (about 3/4" square x 1-1/2" tall) of paint used for plastic models found in most hobby stores or Wal-Mart.

I just bought a 93 GS. What kinds of silver do you use for the frame? It's not in the color-rite list, and I don't want to buy four or five silvers to find the best one... I can't believe no-one on this board of wisdom has a lead...
in hope,
