Title: Feeling nostalgic
Post by: octane on December 22, 2014, 07:57:36 AM
Hey folks. I sold my GS500 about 6 years ago, but found some old pictures and got nostalgic. Thinking about maybe picking up a project bike to fool around with and stopped by GStwin for inspiration. I was really active on the forum a while back, but dropped off when I sold the bike. Nice to see people are still building some nice GS500s!

Here's what mine looked like after it was finished. I regret selling it.

Sweet headlight and cowl!
Do you recall where/how much?
Or are you one of those sickening people with fab skills that made their own?

What an incredible GS!  :bstar:  I hope it is still being appreciated and taken care of wherever it is!  Do you have any more pics ya found?

Thanks for the kind words. Unfortunately the bike was parted.  :icon_sad:  It was worth way more in parts than it was whole and I was looking to finance the next project.  :cookoo:  Should have kept the GS though. I haven't found anything I enjoyed riding more than my old modified GS500.

The headlight and fairing are made my Acerbis. It was a dirt bike fairing. I had to make mounts, but the rest of the assembly is over the counter. It was a long time ago, but I think it was about a hundred bucks. Acerbis has a few cool looking dirt bike headlight setups that look cool on a street fighter.

I did dig up a bunch more. I'll add them to my website this weekend and post a link.
