Title: Setting the engines timing on an 2005.
Post by: J_Walker on January 03, 2015, 01:18:26 PM
   :dunno_black:

so basically, I can't figure this timing thing out. the 2005 only has one pickup... and its making it confusing as hell, I don't own a manual. sure as hell wish I did right about now.

from what I gather, the first line after the RT should be lined up with the node? Then install cams as normally [1 pointing forward/even with engine] 2  arrow, count 18 over. and place the 3 with arrow on the 18th pin? is this correct?

Just want to say: turn the engine over by hand a few times with the plugs out. If there's a problem with timing you don't want to use the starter motor to find out....

getting the engine BACK into the bike, is a freaking joke.
