Bought this bike around September last year and got the bulk of the work finished on it before Christmas. Just took it on an interstate road trip of around 2500km all up, bike didn't miss a beat the whole time, only problem to arise so far has been a dodgy wire in the taillight. Seat and rear shock need some revision before any more long trips though, was murder on the butt after a full day in the saddle!
Mods so far:
Renthal ultra-low bars
Aluminium shorty levers
custom paint on tank,
custom seat and tail loop
cats eye LED brake/tail light
Fork gaiters and repainted lower fork tubes
Chopped original front guard
LED indicators
Bikemaster H4 halo ring headlight
Biltwell Cannon mini muffler
K&N lunchbox filter
Wezmoto braided brake lines
Racetech .90kg/mm front springs with 15w fork oil and preload tuned to my weight
GS750F rear shock with external adjuster
custom battery box with recitfier/flasher etc relocated there
carbs rejetted to suit new filter/exhaust and dyno tuned, now making 41.3rwhp
Still to do/maybe:
Pull out engine and repaint, replace engine cover bolts with stainless allen bolt set
replace instrumentation with fork-mounted Acewell MD52-353 digital gauge
Adapt Harley sportster stuyle bikini fairing to fit, change headight to bottom mount
Convert headlight to HID
Make fibreglass seat cowl
Prolly won't end up doing all of the above, but the first two at least are definites.

looks damn good!
Eye candy!!! I really like how you cleaned up that tail... that seat looks sharp with the white rib and the exhaust tip looks great. The front fender looks cut down almost exactly like mine... really nice custom GS! :star:
Very nice build...I'd like some details on the front fender. Did you cut the stock one or replace entirely? I'm thinking bout options as I hate the stock fender. THanks.
I would like to know the details behind what he did with his fender too!
It looks so similar to mine... I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who wanted to do something different with the front fender!
I cut mine down pretty short and I like the minimal look of it BUT... I am way too OCD to let all those stones and dirt fly up and lay on that ledge on the engine between the pipes. Last summer I bought the back half of a stock fender with the black extender and am planning on cleaning it up, painting it and trying it out with my cut-down front half.
Hope SpaceMonkey sees this and replies with his fender story

Nothing all that amazing with the fender- just took the stock one off went nuts on it with a dremel, haha. First i cut it down straight to slightly longer than the desired length, and then used the offcuts as templates to draw the right curve onto the remaining plastic, then cit it roughly to shape with the dremel and finished it off with a hand file and sandpaper. didn't take to much off at first, then just took a bit more off til I was happy with the amount of coverage I had. After that I just rattlecanned it flat black and gave it a coat of clearcoat over the top. Pretty stoked with the end result I must say.
Also if anyone was wondering what the exhaust souds like- heres a quick video. Start, idle, revved to 4k and 8k rpm.
Nice build.
Do you have any photos of the tail loop conversion as it evolved? Was the seat off the shelf or hand made?
Thanks,
Wayne
Seat was custom made. Not 100% happy with it tbh, if I did it again I'd get it made thicker. My fault though.
took the bike off the road for a few weeks and pulled the engine out and painted and detailed it, also changed the grips and mirrors and swapped in a kat 600 monoshock. Haven't taken it for a good ride yet but already notice the difference with the suspension, feels really sorted now.

Heres an in-progress shot of the rear when it was being built:

Wow... she's beautiful. I'm envious!
